A Friendly Competition

I've decided to take my turn to post something. It is now the time of the year where the kids get to dress up and collect massive amounts of sugary temptations that will be more than enough to allow them bounce off the wall and get cavities. We have been trying to encourage them to decide on what they want to dress up as for about 6 weeks now, so that we would have enough time to put together their costumes. Of course, they didn't finally decide until today.

Maren immediately gave me the "I hate Halloween for this exact reason" look. I volunteered to help with the  costume making. To which Maren said, "Thats good, because there is NO way that I would be able to make   Nathan and Emme's costumes all by myself."

We spent the morning brainstorming how to make the costumes. Maren then teamed up with her sister to collect needed items, and Nathan and I went out to do some of the same.

Once we got home and Janna and her kids left, we started having the kids try on different parts of their costumes so that we could see what it was that we were going to need to do.

While we were deciding what needed to be done, I suggested to Maren that she and I have a friendly competition with costume making. We're going to see who can make their costume the fastest and nicest.

Rules
1. It has to be a friendly.
2. If someone is having a problem with a part of their costume, they can get some help (like brainstorming or  directions), but the majority needs to be done by ourselves.

We will post the outcomes of our projects once they are done and we will let you decide which costume is best. Also note that we are not going to tell who is making which costume. We don't want to bias the judges.

Ready? Set...GO!
