Fun in the ER

So Sunday when I woke up from my nap I went in and found Nate already awake from his. I told him to go potty and he said he did (In his pants). I said okay, lets go change and he said "OK, and I was wondering if you could help me get something out of my bottom". Hmmm... "What's in your bottom, Nate?" "A Sword". So, this is a sword just like what he put there, next to a quarter. It took a sedative and 4 hours in the ER to remove it. Poor kid. I almost feel bad for him, almost.

Rain Gutters, Ceiling Fans, and the Front Porch

This last week has had wonderful weather. The sun has been shining and the temperature has been in the 70's. So Maren and I decided that we wanted to get some things done around the house that we have been planning for several weeks now. Last Friday, we went to Home Depot to get the rain gutters. We had first gone to Lowes and decided to get aluminum gutters, but we were going to have to use sealant and find a way to rivet the pieces together. We had some anxiety about it, but the vinyl gutters were going to be so expensive there that we felt like it was the only way that we could afford to put any gutters up at all. When we got to the Home Depot, we found that their vinyl gutters were going to cost more than the metal ones at Lowes , but only by about $30 and the vinyl had no glue or sealant to worry about trying to get just right. Maren and I decided that it was worth it just to not have to worry. Yesterday, I had the day off of school and the weather was still great, We spent t...

Easter and Jazz

Well, I suppose it is time for more pics.... This is Miss Em with our first REAL attempt at rice cereal, I have given her a few little nibbles before. She liked it, and did well, but she would not keep her hands out of her mouth between bites, it was a three hand job, one for the bowl, one for the spoon, one for prying her hands out of her mouth, she wanted the spoon and hand both in there, silly girl...She has also tried applesauce, and i gave her some the same day as the cereal pictured above. She did really well, ate almost 1/4 cup of it. With that feeding my biggest trial was to shovel it in fast enough. She really liked it. I did not, however, like the massive blowout she had the next day.... Emmy's pretty Easter dress, thank you Boppy . I bought the sweater, thought she'd be cool, knowing Idaho. She was hot in it, and about 10 minutes into Sacrament meeting I was bout to take it off when she spit up down the front of it anyway. Off it came.... Nate and Em, Easter morn...

Squeals

My baby girl has a lot to say and she says it in a very high pitch. She talks like this non-stop. Mom says I talked like this non-stop too, at a lower pitch, and I was saying hi, ma, and da at 6 months, and in full paragraphs long before I was two. She says her head hurt from my constant chatter. I am afraid....

Mad Em

This picture is from a few weeks ago, and I just found it on my camera, Emmy was mad, she kicked off her sock and stuck her foot up on the tray of the swing. She is SOOO sassy! Her favorite thing to do this week is stand on my lap and bounce, and she sat by herself for 5 whole seconds today. WOOOHOOO ! Today I have to go get her Easter present - new clothes, she has completely outgrown 0-3 months, some 3-6 month stuff is small (Old Navy mostly), and yesterday wore a 6-9 month outfit Aunt Heather and Erick sent from Steve and Barry's. I just can't keep up with her. Luckily her 3-6 month dresses from Boppy for Easter will fit her for a while longer!

Spring For One More Day

Well, we were given one more day of Spring, and again were at the park, this time at McCowin, near our old apartment. Emmy likes to play in the sun, and got mad when I tried to get her to take a little nap. I got a little sunburn on my face, and Nate and his friends had a ball, until they all had to use the potty, and we discovered that McCowin doesn't have potties. Maybe we won't return to that one!!! My favorite thing about the day was that Emmy got hot, and I had to take her sockies off, she was still warm, but I was just so excited to have bare piggy toes, I love bare piggy toes!!!!! This is Em put out with me for putting her in her seat for a nap. It didn't last. The purple bear there is 'nuggles, he and 'raffie are her lovies and won't sleep without them or a burp rag to hug. Or a kitchen towel, or a spare shirt....

Spring For A Day

We had some lovely spring weather today, and my friend Amy and I took the kids to the park. Between the two of us, we completely fill a GMC Yukon. 6 kids, all 5 and under. Loading and unloading is a mission no Navy Seal could handle. We are getting quite efficient at it. This is me and my buddy JT, in my sunglasses. Even Emmy enjoyed the sun for a while, then proceded to take a nap in her carseat, a rare occurence. Tomorrow it is supposed to be nice too, maybe I'll get some pics of my own kids! Nate and I also grilled burgers for lunch and ate on the front deck. The sun was so nice! Too bad it'll be gone in another day...
