Ahoy there Mateys, it be Cap'n Nate's 5th Birthday. He had a great time, and Mom is glad we only do parties every few years. Really glad. And Nate is really glad that EVERYONE knows that he like transformers. EVERYONE. Thank you.

Lots of different things have been going on the last couple of weeks. First off.... I'm finished with school. Choirs of angels sing praise!!!!! At least I'm done for a while. I want to relax, find a RN job and spend some time home with Maren and the kids. Maren is just wondering what in the world she is going to do now that she has me home two more days a week. Today I finally got the christmas lights hung outside. I've only been trying to get that done since Thanksgiving. But with school, drama at work, and home life, it has been practically impossible to do until now. It is not much but it looks nice. I got the front porch, the roof in front done. As I was starting to go up one of the peaks of the house, I started to feel a little shaky on the ladder, so I gave up on that idea. We all felt that it is better to have me in one piece with the light not going as high, than getting the lights up and me ending up in the hospital with broken bones. It occurred to me today that if I didn't blog tonight, I'd completely miss November. November is one of the big birthday months in my family. All of the Anderson siblings claim November. Add thanksgiving to the mix and it is the second busiest month. Only December can top it! I shared a birthday with turkey day this year and that was great. Andrew has two classes left and he'll be done with school, until he decides to go back. I've thought a lot this month about November 2008. We lived with my parents all month, stressed about the house deal falling through and wondered how long Emmy would bake. I am so grateful this year that We are in our house, with just us, Emmy is here, Andrew is pretty much done, other than a few huge tests, and I AM NNNOOOOTTTT Pregnant. Whew. As for updates for each of us: Andrew - 6 weeks left of school, stress will start kicking up here in the next week or so. Starting to look for RN jobs. Just finished reading the entire Harry Potter series again. Maren - Trying hard to be a nice mom. I am so tired! Just finished reading The Hunger Games, and loved it. I've had this video for a couple of weeks now, and can't seem to remember to post it. Emmy shocked me with this one day, i knew she could stand at furniture, and that she could take a little half-step as needed, but when she started doing laps around the table I was floored.

Fall is my mostest favorite time of year. To me it is more a time of fresh newness than spring is. I love the smell of leaves, and cider, and pumpkin spice. I love the briskness in the air. I love the colors, the orange and gold and brown. I love first frost and first snowflakes, the first day of school and first bowl of soup. I am reminded of You've Got Mail, when Meg Ryan talks about wanting a bouquet of freshly sharpened yellow #2 pencils at this time of year. I love pulling out long sleeve shirts and sweaters, getting to wear hoodies and slippers. I love hot choco , and steamers, which I have finally figured out how to sort of recreate at home. I love baking and roasting and simmering foods, I love the preparation for holidays. I love that all of the home decor at the stores matches my house, too bad I am not independently wealthy....There is only one small thing that I don't love - the start of sick season. We've already had puking and runny noses, and I am already...
