I saw something on Pinterest today that at first I scoffed at.
"You have enemies? Good. That means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life."
The quote was attributed to Eminem. Sure you got enemies, buddy....
But further research revealed that it was originally Winston Churchill that said it. Ah, that makes more sense...
But still, that doesn't seem right - we don't want enemies. We want to be Christlike, and enemies would mean that we aren't loving everyone...No, wait that's not right either...
Who has had more enemies in this world than anyone else? Who has the STRONGEST enemy out there?
Yeah. Jesus Christ, Who we want to be like. If we are like Him, and doing what He would, if we Stand For Something, we already have the biggest enemy, and his entire army, and frankly, most of the world against us.
Not everyone has to like us, or what we do. The only ones that have to like us are God, and ourselves. When we are lucky we have an entire army of support, in our family, and friends, and ward. But we have enemies, and more of them, and it's because we stand for something.
